Hailey von Heidelberg
Hailey von Heidelberg is a wonderful 7 year old German Shepherd. We found out about Hailey when a very upset good Samaritan called us to help. Her neighbor who is seeing impaired called to ask for a ride to her vet. She wanted to take her seeing eye dog of 6 years to be put to sleep. As it turned out Hailey had had a seizure and had been taken to the vet to get treated before. She was on Phenobarbital which was working, she hadn’t had another seizure. As we are told, the neighbor at this point had a new seeing eye dog and didn’t want to be bothered with caring for Hailey. Hailey loved her even though she wasn’t perfect, but Hailey didn’t get the same kind of loyalty and treatment. She was at our vet for a few days and doing super well. She is now in a temporary foster home; we don’t want to put Hailey in a kennel after being in a home and in service for so many years. Hailey is very easy, trained of course, unreactive to other dogs on a leash, even small ones. She is housebroken and used to being in a home. She enjoys car rides and is a completely lovely dog. Hailey needs help! |
